In the summer of 2013, I co-founded the art collective Dreamland with Amy Conway. A dreamland is a fantasy place. It is invented to give its owner an imaginary landscape to play in. In common use, you might say cynically that someone is living in dreamland if they are doing something that seems illogical, difficult, or unusual. We think choosing to make art is a little like living in dreamland. And we like it.

For the project pictured, of the same name, we read surreal short fiction in an outdoor bedroom scene to anyone who wanted to listen. We caused an unexpected interruption to a public space. Created a moment of pause, confusion, wonder and joy for visitors to the installation.

Our first project, in which we carried our bedroom furniture up to the summit of  Mt. Tabor in Portland, OR to offer up bedtime stories to anyone who desired to lay in our beds and listen.
