IDEA #4: The Center for Intentional Relationships

A physical space that provides resources, community and practical help in creating the intimate relationship structures that you want.

The center would be a physical space that could be used for events and lectures, and also a website with electronic resources. The center would include a physical library and a compilation of web-based resources and academic articles, research, and data. It would serve as a place of exploratory research, that could function outside of an "official" or academic environment and could become a community center of sorts for like-minded or interested people. It could also begin to compile a list of allies (such as lawyers, doctors, counselors, etc.) that would assist with other components of making this kind of intentional living more practical and possible.

So I have some improving to do on follow-through with my daily idea, but I'm committed to keeping on trying. I'll post a makeup idea for missing a day.

I've been experiencing a block around a project idea I want to develop further so my collaborator Emily Fitzgerald and I decided to give each other prompts to shake our ideas loose. We want the project use photography as a tool and the content we are interested in is intimacy and relationship dynamics. So here is our idea...

IDEA #3: Each week we assign each other a photo prompt that requires each other to create a visual representation of a relationship.

We both answer each others prompts and our own. When a month has gone by we begin to publish them as a body of work together. Examples: A photo of someone or something that makes you uncomfortable. A photo of someone you love.

This morning I am applying for a job I really want. I have some questions, but all of my gainfully-employed, advice-having friends and colleagues are at work. So, my idea is coming from the best kind of place, fulfilling an actual need I have. (Hey, I never promised these would all be art ideas.)

IDEA #2: An app, put out by LinkedIn, in which you give and receive advice about job hunting. It would function like Lulu but for jobs.

i.e. "On my resume, should I include brief descriptions of each job I've held?" You would be able to see the line of work of the person answering so you could get a better sense of whether to trust their advice.
