YesYesNonmono

Co-founded in 2017 with Margaret Jacobsen, this project’s mission is to create a space for sharing and learning about liberatory relationship practices.

My column, Soft Focus, is a conversation series on sexual politics and culture.

Writing about Sex

I will take any opportunity to paint desire, sexuality, sex work, and empathy in a positive light. When asked to write for a sex toy blog, I took the chance to interview the founder of a cuddling business in Portland, OR.

Ghostwriting about Death & Dying

Some Light at the End was a collaboration with a hospice nurse, Beth Cavenaugh, who approached me and collaborator Emily Fitzgerald about producing a creative project on death and dying. Beth really wanted an escape from the corporate medical environment where she felt restricted from giving her full level of care. As a medical professional, without any prior experience writing, Beth asked me to act as a ghostwriter and developmental editor sharing the creative role to produce the text. Together, we created a book that could simultaneously act as a toolkit, a beautiful object, and a practical guidebook for both patients and their caregivers. The book includes prompts for readers to do together with their loved ones, written by me and Emily, as well as medical advice, stories and emotional guidance through the dying process.
